Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has launched the Quantum-Hub@MAHE (Q-Hub) at the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Bengaluru campus, to promote India’s indigenous quantum hardware ecosystem. The initiative aligns with the National Quantum Mission, aiming to strengthen India’s position in the global quantum value chain.
Q-Hub will serve as an integrated platform for quantum hardware research, deep-tech startup incubation, and workforce development. It also provides testing infrastructure and translational research within an academic framework. The center plans to train 100 quantum engineers by December 2026 through a combination of online modules and hands-on laboratory experience.

MAHE also signed agreements with international organizations, including QuantrolOx (Finland), Bluefors (Finland), QBLOX (Netherlands), and C-DAC, a government agency. The physical Q-Hub facility is set to be inaugurated in September 2026, becoming a national gateway for testing and measuring quantum technologies.
Vice-Chancellor M. D. Venkatesh emphasized that Q-Hub aims to significantly contribute to India's leadership in quantum technologies.
