Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced a major initiative to equip nursing students with foreign language skills, underscoring the state government’s commitment to expanding global employment opportunities for its healthcare workforce. Speaking to students at a nursing college in Khammam on Saturday, the Chief Minister highlighted the growing demand for qualified nurses in countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Germany, and emphasised that language proficiency is key to accessing these international opportunities.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, CM Reddy said the state government will establish dedicated facilities to teach Japanese, Korean, and German to nursing students aspiring to work overseas. “During my recent visit abroad, I witnessed first-hand the appreciation for Indian nurses, particularly those from Telangana, who have earned high praise for their professionalism and dedication. We want our students to be fully prepared to compete on the global stage, and language skills will be a critical part of that preparation”, he said.
The initiative will initially cover nursing students from colleges in Yedulapuram, with plans to expand to other institutions in the state. Officials noted that the government aims to integrate foreign language training into the broader curriculum for healthcare education, allowing students to build linguistic competencies alongside their clinical and technical skills.
CM Reddy highlighted that such measures not only enhance employability but also strengthen Telangana’s reputation as a state producing highly skilled healthcare professionals. “Doctors are next to God, and our nurses complement that excellence. By providing language training, we are enabling them to elevate Telangana’s prestige on the global stage through their professional achievements”, he added.
Officials said the move reflects the state’s broader focus on linking education and skill development with real-world employment outcomes. By targeting high-demand markets abroad, the government hopes to create pathways for students to secure international jobs, improve remittance inflows, and showcase the quality of healthcare education in Telangana. The program will provide structured teaching, practical language exercises, and cultural orientation to ensure students are ready for professional roles overseas.

In parallel with the education initiative, the Chief Minister also convened a 'Civil Military Liaison Conference' in Hyderabad on Thursday to strengthen coordination between the state administration and the armed forces. According to the CMO, CM Reddy urged Army officials to appoint special officers to address pending matters, including land allotments and the sanction of Sainik Schools, through continuous dialogue.
“The state government is committed to supporting all defence and national security projects. We have already allocated 3,000 acres for a low-frequency Navy radar station in Vikarabad. Now, we are focusing on resolving pending issues efficiently through structured engagement”, the CMO quoted him as saying.
Officials noted that these dual announcements enhancing global employment prospects for nursing students and deepening civil-military coordination reflect Telangana’s integrated approach to human resource development, healthcare, education, and national security. By combining skill-building initiatives with strategic governance, the state aims to provide its youth with competitive opportunities while supporting broader national priorities.
CM Reddy reiterated that the government’s efforts are intended to create a win-win scenario: enabling students to pursue international careers while simultaneously reinforcing the state’s contribution to professional healthcare and national security excellence.
