TeachBetter.ai has released a groundbreaking report, 'How Teachers Are Using AI to Transform Education', offering a clear look at how educators are integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into their classrooms. The research, which draws on a year’s worth of anonymized platform data and feedback from thousands of teachers, marks a significant shift in the conversation around AI in education moving from speculation to evidence, and from theoretical potential to practical application.
The launch also coincides with the debut of TeachBetter.ai Version 4.0, which introduces a powerful Live Quiz & Poll Generator to enable teachers to create online quizzes and capture real-time responses in seconds. According to the report, AI adoption is already happening in classrooms across the globe, but it’s happening in specific, teacher-led ways. Data from TeachBetter.ai’s platform usage, which includes over 115,000 resource generations and 30,000 users, reveals that AI is being seamlessly embedded into core instructional workflows, such as lesson planning, assessments, and classroom preparation.
This pattern suggests that AI is most effective when it enhances teaching through teacher-first platforms rather than simply automating isolated tasks, such as those done by generic chatbots. The research identifies the top 10 ways teachers are using AI in their classrooms, and among these, five use cases stood out for their high adoption rates. Fifty-five percent of teachers are using AI to design lesson plans, making it a fundamental part of their regular workflow. Nearly half (48%) of teachers are relying on AI for assessment design, using it to create quizzes and worksheets more efficiently.
AI-powered presentations have also seen a significant rise in popularity, with 35% of teachers using them for visual-first instruction. Additionally, 32% of teachers are using AI for academic and institutional writing, streamlining documentation and communication. About 28% are leveraging AI to design engaging, hands-on activities and projects, moving away from traditional theoretical approaches to teaching.
"The evidence shows that teachers are not using AI to replace teaching but to transform it",said Binit Agarwalla, Founder of TeachBetter.ai. When delivered through teacher-first platforms, AI is helping shift classrooms from rote memorization to deeper understanding and real-world applications. This transformation aligns with the pedagogical vision outlined in India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
A key takeaway from the report is the time-saving impact AI has on teachers. On average, teachers using TeachBetter.ai save 4.7 hours per week, which they can then reinvest into mentoring students, clarifying concepts, and offering differentiated instruction. "AI’s impact is not in saving time, but in expanding what teachers can do with it making teaching transformation possible at scale", said Agarwalla.

The launch of TeachBetter.ai Version 4.0 further highlights this transition, as the platform introduces features that go beyond preparation to integrate AI into daily teaching. The Live Quiz & Poll Generator allows teachers to quickly create quizzes, share links, capture responses, and provide immediate feedback all in real time. What used to take hours can now be done in seconds, streamlining the assessment process.
The platform includes 20 AI tools spanning various aspects of teaching, including lesson planning, assessment, creativity, and revision. As AI continues to reshape education, the report stresses the importance of teacher-first design. Teachers are increasingly using AI to shift their focus from rote practice to conceptual mastery, allowing more time for in-depth student engagement. "AI helps me generate practice material faster, so I can focus on conceptual understanding", said Dr M. Gopalakrishnan, a Senior Mathematics Teacher.
Despite the clear benefits, the report notes that mass adoption of AI in education still faces challenges, such as cost, complexity, and poor alignment with classroom needs. However, the next phase of AI adoption will be driven by scale, simplicity, and sustainability. "We are moving from automation to enhancement, and eventually to transformation", said Agarwalla.
