The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the provisional seat allotment result for Round 3 of NEET UG Counselling 2026, giving candidates another opportunity to secure seats or upgrade their existing allotments in undergraduate medical and dental programmes. The provisional result has been published on the official MCC counselling portal for candidates to check their allotment status and follow the next admission steps.
According to the Round 3 provisional allotment data, 4,687 candidates have received fresh seat allotments, while 5,169 candidates have been upgraded to another seat, institute or course. The allotment process covers undergraduate medical and dental admissions through the MCC counselling system, with candidates required to follow the prescribed reporting and admission procedures after the result.
Candidates who have received an allotment in Round 3 can report to their respective colleges from October 1 to October 9, 2026. During this period, students are required to complete the necessary admission formalities, including document verification and other requirements specified by their allotted institutions.
The Round 3 allotment includes seats in MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing programmes across participating institutions and applicable categories. Candidates who have been upgraded should also carefully check the details of their new allotment and follow the instructions provided by the MCC before proceeding with admission. The MCC has specifically clarified the provisional nature of the current result.
“The candidates cannot claim any right over the allotted seat in the provisional result and the provisional result cannot be challenged before the Court of Law,” the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) stated in its notice concerning the Round 3 provisional result.
The committee has also stated that the provisional result is subject to change before the final result is issued. Candidates are therefore advised to carefully verify their allotment details and wait for the final result before treating the provisional allocation as confirmed admission.
Students who have received seats should ensure that they report within the specified period and carry the required documents for verification. Failure to complete the admission process within the prescribed timeline could affect their counselling status, depending on the applicable MCC rules.
The Round 3 development is an important stage in the NEET UG 2026 admission process, particularly for candidates who were waiting for a fresh allotment or hoping to upgrade their previously allotted seats. With thousands of fresh and upgraded allotments reflected in the provisional result, candidates now have to complete the next stage of the counselling process within the specified dates.
Candidates can check their individual allotment status, official notices, reporting instructions and subsequent counselling updates through the MCC's official NEET UG counselling portal. Students are advised to rely on the official MCC information for any changes to the provisional result, final allotment and further admission procedures.
