The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) has partnered with Chennai-based Skill-Lync to launch certificate programs in future mobility engineering. The collaboration aims to prepare engineers for the fast-changing automotive and mobility sector in India.
The partnership has been signed through the Institute Incubation and Innovation Council (I3C) at IIT Jammu. Under this initiative, Skill-Lync will roll out a set of industry-focused certificate courses that blend academic fundamentals with practical exposure to modern engineering practices. The programs are designed to reflect how mobility engineering works today, especially across electric vehicles (EVs), automotive electronics, embedded systems, and software-led platforms.
Skill-Lync brings strong industry experience to the collaboration. Over the past three years, the company has worked with more than 80 automotive and mobility firms and trained over 20,000 engineers. These engagements have helped Skill-Lync closely track how engineering roles are evolving and what skills the industry now demands. These insights have shaped the course content to align with real-world tools, workflows, and expectations.
By teaming up, IIT Jammu contributes academic depth and research-driven learning, while Skill-Lync adds an industry-validated curriculum. Together, they aim to create programs that combine strong engineering basics with hands-on, application-oriented learning.

The move comes as India’s mobility sector rapidly shifts toward EV adoption and software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Automakers such as Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and MG Motor India are investing heavily in electrification, connected vehicles, and software-driven systems. This has increased demand for engineers skilled in EV systems, battery technology, power electronics, embedded software, and data-driven platforms.
Students can apply for the certificate programs through Skill-Lync’s platform or IIT Jammu’s course listings. On successful completion, learners will receive a joint certificate issued by IIT Jammu, I3C-IIT Jammu, and Skill-Lync. To encourage participation, Skill-Lync is also offering introductory scholarships for eligible candidates.
