IIM Calcutta, FPSB India Launch Executive Financial Planning Program

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) has entered into a strategic collaboration with FPSB India to introduce an executive education program in chartered financial planning. The partnership aims to strengthen professional education in financial planning by combining IIM Calcutta’s academic expertise with FPSB’s globally recognized standards and certification framework.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Mumbai by IIM Calcutta Director Professor Alok Kumar Rai, in the presence of FPSB Global CEO Dante De Gori. Professor P Rajesh Babu, Dean of Executive Education at IIM Calcutta, was also present at the signing. The program is designed for working professionals who want to deepen their knowledge in financial planning and align their skills with international best practices.

According to IIM Calcutta, the executive course will focus on practical, industry-relevant learning while maintaining strong academic rigor. It is expected to help professionals improve decision-making, client advisory skills, and long-term financial strategy capabilities.

Sharing the update on social media, Professor Rai highlighted that the collaboration marks an important step in expanding IIM Calcutta’s executive education portfolio in partnership with a global standards body.

The announcement comes at a time when Indian management institutions are gaining stronger global recognition. In the QS Global MBA and Business Master’s Rankings 2026, IIM Calcutta secured the 64th position worldwide, improving its rank from last year. IIM Bangalore ranked 52nd, while IIM Ahmedabad stood at 58th. QS noted that Indian IIMs performed well in employability, return on investment, and thought leadership.

QS evaluated more than 390 MBA programs across 80 countries, reinforcing India’s growing presence in global management education. The new program further strengthens IIM Calcutta’s role in building industry-ready financial professionals.
