HP TET 2026 Receives 39,984 Applications for November Exams

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has received 39,984 applications for the November 2026 session of the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HP TET). The application window has closed, and the board has begun screening submissions and preparing examination centres ahead of the first papers scheduled for November 22.

Of the total applications, 38,355 candidates have paid the prescribed examination fee, while 1,629 applications were submitted without payment. The board is reviewing the applications as part of its preparations for conducting the examination across different teaching categories.

The application figures highlight the participation of aspiring educators in the state’s teacher eligibility process. However, the number of applications does not necessarily represent the number of candidates whose registrations have been fully validated.

HP TET November Examination Schedule

The November session is scheduled to begin on November 22, 2026, with examinations taking place across different dates according to the teaching category. The test covers categories including Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) Arts, Medical and Non-Medical, Junior Basic Training (JBT), Hindi, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Urdu and Special Educator TET.

The board is working on examination-centre allocation and other arrangements required to conduct the tests. Candidates should check the official HPBOSE website for updates concerning admit cards, examination centres, reporting times and instructions applicable to their respective papers.

Applicants should also confirm their registration and fee-payment status. The 1,629 applications submitted without payment may require further clarification or action according to the board’s official instructions. Candidates should not assume that an application without the prescribed fee has been accepted as a valid examination registration.

Focus on Qualified Teachers and Education Standards

Teacher eligibility assessments are an important part of the process for establishing whether candidates meet prescribed requirements for teaching positions. They provide a qualifying benchmark, while recruitment itself remains subject to the applicable rules and requirements of the recruiting authority.

“Our constant endeavour is to provide quality education opportunities and support the aspirations of every learner.” The statement appears in the chairman’s message on the HPBOSE website. -   Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, HPBOSE

The emphasis on quality education also draws attention to the role of qualified teachers in supporting student learning. Subject knowledge, classroom skills and continued professional development remain important elements of effective teaching alongside formal eligibility requirements.

With the application process concluded, the next stage involves screening submissions and completing examination arrangements. Candidates preparing for the November session should follow official notifications closely and make sure they understand the requirements for their particular examination category.

The first examinations are scheduled for November 22, giving applicants time to review the syllabus, organise revision and check the latest instructions issued by the board before appearing for their papers.
