Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University is set to introduce Uttar Pradesh's first dual MBA program in collaboration with Lincoln University College, Malaysia. The initiative will allow students to complete a single academic program while earning MBA degrees from both institutions, offering them international exposure and stronger career opportunities.

The proposal has received final approval from the university's Executive Council, making Gorakhpur University the first state-run university in Uttar Pradesh to offer a dual MBA degree program with an overseas partner.

Under the new academic model, students will spend the first year of their MBA at Gorakhpur University before completing the second year at Lincoln University College in Malaysia. After successfully finishing the course, they will receive MBA degrees from both universities.

University officials said the program has been designed to provide students with global learning opportunities and practical exposure to international business practices. By studying in two countries, students will gain a broader understanding of management, leadership, and global business operations.

The university believes the international academic experience will also improve students' employability and prepare them for careers with multinational companies and global organizations. The dual degree is expected to give graduates an added advantage in an increasingly competitive job market.

The new program builds on the existing academic and research partnership between Gorakhpur University and Lincoln University College. The collaboration has now expanded beyond research to include joint academic offerings that allow students to benefit from the strengths of both institutions.

University officials said they are currently finalizing the fee structure and admission process for the program. Detailed guidelines, including eligibility criteria and application procedures, are expected to be announced within the next week.

Along with the dual MBA, the university is also expanding its academic portfolio by introducing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality Management (BBA-THM) from the current academic session. The new undergraduate program will be offered through the university's Commerce Department and is aimed at preparing students for careers in India's growing tourism and hospitality sectors.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Poonam Tandon said the initiative reflects the university's commitment to expanding international education opportunities for students. She said the partnership represents an important milestone in the institution's efforts to align its academic programs with global standards.

According to the vice-chancellor, the dual MBA program will help students develop internationally relevant skills while exposing them to diverse academic and cultural environments.
