Mohan Babu University (MBU) is a State Private University located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, established under the Andhra Pradesh State Private Universities Act. The institution became Mohan Babu University in 2022 after previously operating as Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions. The university offers programmes across engineering, pharmacy, liberal arts and sciences, agriculture, art and design, media studies, and paramedical and health sciences.

The university has now expanded its academic offerings into the online education space with the launch of MBU Online. Backed by the university’s Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), the platform offers five undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across management, commerce and computer applications.

The programmes include Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

The programmes are intended for students, working professionals, fresh graduates and entrepreneurs. The university said the online format is designed to allow learners to pursue their education while continuing with existing academic or professional commitments.

According to the university, MBU Online will use a combination of live and recorded learning resources. The platform will include live interactive classes conducted on weekends and more than 400 hours of pre-recorded video resources.

Online examinations will use AI-powered proctoring, while academic support will be provided through a Learning Management System (LMS). The platform will also provide access to digital repositories containing journals, e-books and research papers.

Virtual laboratory tools and hands-on projects are included in the learning structure, depending on the programme.

The Online MBA covers areas including finance, marketing, operations and leadership. The programme also includes case studies, simulations and industry-oriented projects as part of its academic structure.

The Online MCA includes subjects such as Natural Language Processing, Full Stack Web Development, and Cyber Laws and Security. Students will also complete a capstone project as part of the programme.

The university has also outlined career-related services alongside the online programmes. These include placement assistance, internship opportunities, career counselling, resume-building support and mock interview preparation. Students will also have access to the MBU alumni network for mentorship.

MBU has received a QS I-GAUGE Diamond rating, according to the university. The institution currently offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across several academic disciplines.

With the launch of MBU Online, Mohan Babu University has added an online mode of study to its academic offerings, covering undergraduate and postgraduate education through programmes in business, commerce and computer applications.
