Delhi government schools have launched a student reel-making competition under the “Meri Seva, Mera Sankalp” initiative, encouraging students to share their ideas on public service, kindness, civic responsibility and nation-building.
The initiative is part of the wider Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, which aims to encourage young people to reflect on their role in society.
The competition invites students from Delhi government schools to create short-form videos highlighting how individuals can contribute to their communities and the country. The themes include public service, kindness, civic duties and nation-building.
Students can explore topics such as Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation in development), cleanliness, environmental conservation, civic responsibilities, helping elderly and vulnerable people, and respecting public property and national symbols. These themes encourage students to connect classroom learning with everyday responsibilities.
The campaign also includes drawing and speech competitions, giving students different ways to express their ideas about public service and social responsibility. Through these activities, students can communicate their views creatively and reflect on how individual actions can contribute to community welfare.
Campaign Linked to Viksit Bharat @2047
The “Meri Seva, Mera Sankalp” initiative is being conducted under the month-long Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, which is scheduled to run until October 17, 2026, according to reports. The campaign connects student participation in civic activities with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Activities such as making reels, preparing speeches and creating drawings give students opportunities to organize their thoughts, communicate messages and consider social issues from different perspectives. The use of short videos also provides a digital format for students to present their ideas, while drawing and speech competitions offer additional ways to participate.
Building Awareness Beyond the Classroom
The initiative encourages students to view civic responsibility as part of everyday life—not only as a topic discussed in school. Themes such as cleanliness, environmental care, respect for public property and support for vulnerable people provide practical examples of how young people can contribute to their surroundings.
By combining creative expression with civic learning, the competition encourages Delhi government school students to reflect on public service and their role in the country’s development.
