CBSE has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to request scanned answer sheets until May 25 after widespread complaints about technical issues on its online portal.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again extended the deadline for Class 12 students seeking scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. The board took the step after students and parents across the country faced repeated technical issues while trying to complete the application process online.
According to the latest notification issued by CBSE, students can now apply for scanned copies of their answer sheets until midnight on May 25. The extension aims to give students more time after many users struggled with problems on the portal over the last few days.
Students and parents reported several issues while using the online platform. Many users said they faced login failures, payment errors, and incomplete submissions. Some also claimed that payment amounts were deducted from their bank accounts, but the applications did not get processed successfully.
The issue began after CBSE introduced an online system for accessing scanned copies of answer sheets as part of its post-result process and on-screen evaluation system. Soon after the portal became active, users started sharing complaints about transaction failures and technical difficulties.
As the number of complaints increased, concerns grew among students who feared that the ongoing problems could affect their chance to apply for answer sheet verification and re-evaluation within the scheduled timeline.
The issue also drew attention at the government level. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stepped in and asked experts from Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur to assist CBSE in resolving the technical issues affecting the portal.
Sources said the minister reviewed the situation after receiving a large number of complaints from students and parents from different regions of the country.
Reports also said support was sought to address issues related to the payment gateway used during the application process. The goal is to fix transaction-related problems and ensure students can complete applications without interruptions.
Many students expressed concerns that repeated delays and technical failures could impact their ability to complete the next steps in the re-evaluation process on time. Parents also raised their concerns on social media, questioning why the issues continued despite multiple complaints over several days.

This is now the third extension announced by CBSE in connection with the post-result process, highlighting the scale of disruption caused by the portal problems.
CBSE has urged students to complete their applications before the revised deadline. The board also said that technical teams continue to work on stabilizing the platform and improving the user experience. For students waiting to access their answer sheets, the extension offers additional time and some relief, but many still hope for a smoother and more reliable process in the coming days.
